Glinda, en revanche, est devenue l’incarnation même du glamour et de la vertu. Installée dans le palais d’Émeraude, elle jouit des privilèges de sa célébrité et oeuvre, sous l’influence de Madame Morrible (Michelle Yeoh, à renforcer l’image du règne du Magicien auprès du peuple.
Alors qu’elle s’apprête à épouser le prince Fiyero (Jonathan Bailey) lors d’un somptueux mariage ‘‘grandiOz’’, Glinda ne peut oublier Elphaba. Rongée par le remords, elle tente une réconciliation qui échoue et aggrave encore la situation de son ancienne amie. Les conséquences seront lourdes pour Fiyero, Boq (Ethan Slater) et Nessarose (Marissa Bode), la soeur d’Elphaba, surtout lorsqu’une mystérieuse jeune fille venue du Kansas entre en scène.
Labeled as the Wicked Witch of the West, Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) now lives in exile, hidden in the forest. She continues her fight for the freedom of muzzled animals, while seeking to reveal the true nature of the Wizard of Oz (Jeff Goldblum).
Glinda, on the other hand, has become the epitome of glamor and virtue. Installed in the Emerald Palace, she enjoys the privileges of her celebrity and works, under the influence of Madame Morrible (Michelle Yeoh), to strengthen the image of the Magician's reign among the people.
As she prepares to marry Prince Fiyero (Jonathan Bailey) in a lavish “grandiOz” wedding, Glinda cannot forget Elphaba. Consumed by remorse, she attempts a reconciliation which fails and further aggravates the situation of her former friend. The consequences will be heavy for Fiyero, Boq (Ethan Slater) and Nessarose (Marissa Bode), Elphaba's sister, especially when a mysterious young girl from Kansas enters the scene.
