NAWI est l'histoire d'une fille de 13 ans forcée d'épouser un étranger beaucoup plus âgé en échange d'un troupeau de chèvres. Son histoire raconte ce qui se passe lorsqu'une fille décide de ne pas suivre le chemin choisi pour elle, ce qui lui coûterait son éducation. NAWI est basé sur des événements réels racontés par Milcah Cherotich. Il avait été sélectionné comme la candidature officielle du Kenya aux Oscars en 2025. Il a remporté un African Academy Award ainsi que de nombreux autres prix internationaux, y compris le meilleur film au Raindance à Londres et au Pan African Film Fest à Los Angeles. Il est présenté à Genève en avant-première pour Genève et la Suisse, et sera projeté à l’international en 2026.

NAWI is the story of a 13 year old girl forced to marry a much older stranger in exchange for a herd of goats. Her story is about what happens when a girl decides not to follow the path chosen for her that would cost her her education. NAWI is based on true events retold by Milcah Cherotich. It had been selected as Kenya’s official Oscar
entry in 2025. It has won an African Academy award as well as many other international awards, including best film at Raindance in London and at the Los Angeles -based Pan African Film Fest. It is presented in Geneva as an avant-première for Geneva and Switzerland, it will be
shown internationally in 2026.
